Cooper's Hawk

I'm about 95% sure this is a juvenile Cooper's Hawk. I tried to convince myself it is a juvenile Northern Goshawk, but it's missing the pale eye brow of the Goshawk. The feature that makes me question a Cooper's Hawk is the tail. The stripes are somewhat uneven which is a feature of the Goshawk.
I'm open to comments.

  1. This juvenile Cooper's hawk seems to be missing some tail feathers. It isn't molt--the primaries and tail will be replaced next fall! This bird is already in pretty ratty plumage, as you can tell by the abraded tail feather tips. It doesn't help the appearance that the bird is wet.
