A male American Wigeon seen at Westmoreland Park in Portland on Nov 22. This was one of the many American Wigeons that were hosting the two Eurasian Wigeons.
During the last couple of weeks, I have seen several Wigeons visiting a lake in Wilsonville. I have looked up information on these ducks and am unable to find the following: They are seen hanging around geese. Is this common behavior for Wigeons?
Not that I am aware of, other than a natural tendency of water fowl to congregate on ponds. I assume you are referring to Coffee Lake on Grahams Ferry Road. The water fowl numbers have really increased in the last few weeks. It would be great if there were a blind there to more easily watch all that activity.
