Every once in a while I get a picture of a bird with its nictitating membrane over its eye. Such is the case with this Western Scrub Jay and this time I actually got two pictures of it.This Jay was perched in a tree just before the bridge leading out of Unit S at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge back in early September.
